Pages under three seconds, with the evidence
I took on portal page performance, used user caching to bring exchange pages consistently under about three seconds and proved it with repeatable load tests that I reported to the US head of development.

What I did
Tuned user caching, reran the load tests on clean databases and published the run details and purge scripts.

Page times held under about three seconds run after run, and the US head of development replied 'Awesome, thanks'.
